I feel honoured to serve as Chairman of the Department of Islamic Studies Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM). The department of Islamic Studies is one of the pioneers teaching units of AWKUM and has a prominent role in achieving the objectives as per its Vision and Mission. Since the start of my services in 2009 for AWKUM as a Lecturer, an Assistant Professor, an Associate professor, and serving against other administrative positions, I have strived for the excellence in academics atmosphere while ensuring conducive learning and working environment for the faculty, staff, and research scholars of the department so that our next generation should be ready to thrive for the achievements as per ideology of Pakistan.
By the grace of Allah Almighty, the department is getting rich in term of highly motivated and well-qualified teaching faculty, which stand at 16. Though these faculty members belong to different parts of KP, they have graduated from leading universities of the Muslim world in religious Sciences and providing a diverse teaching and scholarly rich learning environment to the students of undergraduate and graduate levels with the Programs that are intellectually, spiritually, and humanly linked to the sources of Islamic revelation.
By adopting a multidisciplinary approach, our faculty enable the students to engage in research on the contemporary issues of the current modern era, which needs Islamic healing on their social, cultural, and ethical crises. Along with research-oriented orations, symposiums, conferences, academic & social visits, and other healthy activities, as chairman, I am continuously setting department focus to promote religious tolerance and interfaith harmony in the society as well.
Blended with the inculcation of Islamic ethical values, the department philosophical building is laid on empowerment, transformational leadership role and teamwork.
Finally, I am passionate about the success of the department and strongly believe that our social, academic, and mentoring strategies will have an immensely positive impact for having a dynamic and vibrant Islamic personality of students for the welfare of whole humanity ان شا ء اللہ.
