Vision of the Department:

The Department of Zoology establishment aimed to shoulder the sheer tasks to promote and facilitate the Zoology in society and produce Zoology researchers and scholars. Acknowledgement of Zoology is essential to know about the importance of wildlife. The Zoology Department of Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan is equipped with well qualified and trained young faculty members.

The Department offers a broad range of research and teaching activities in the area of zoology. In addition to our graduate courses, our faculty members are directly responsible for the teaching of microbiology, bioinformatics, biotechnology and biostatistics.

Areas of active basic research perspectives include molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, Parasitology, fisheries and aquaculture, entomology, immunology, virology, HBV, HCV, and HIV related research, microbial genetics.
Currently, many programs are running in the department that is B.S four years program, M.Sc 2 years program, MPhil and PhD programs following the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan curriculum and criteria.
