Assalam-o- Alaikum.
On behalf of Management Sciences Department Timergara Campus, I warmly welcome you to the web site of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.
We live and work in a changing world. New laws have introduced that lead to the introduction of new policies. New ideas and approaches emerge. New problems arise and new solutions are sought. The world of work is therefore a constantly moving and evolving one. What this means, is that, if we are not constantly learning as we go about our day-to-day business, then each day we are getting further and further out of touch with the demands of the modern working world. It also involves making sure that we have, as far as possible, the knowledge and skills required to carry out our duties appropriately and filling any gaps in our knowledge base and skills repertoire as these become identified. Besides, there is also the question of values. We need to make sure that our work is consistent with the value base on which it is premised.
Moreover, we all know that the modern world is witnessing continuous breakthroughs in the field of science and technology. There are numerous developments all over the world. No doubt, all the breakthroughs and developments were made possible by efficient and effective management of their respective plans, resources and procedures. You are well aware of the fact that there is a wide gap in development between Europe and Asia. European countries are highly developed as compared to Asian and African nations. You may call this gap as the ‘Science and Technology gap’ but in reality, it is the ‘Management Gap’. In other words, economies of well-developed nations are well managed, whereas, economies of less developed nations are poorly managed. Thus, it is evident that management plays a vital role in the success and development of not only the business organizations but the entire nation as a whole. In short, all societies, whether developed or developing, need a huge lot of good managers. Off-Course the youth of today will be the managers and leaders of tomorrow.
Keeping in view all these facts, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan as a whole and Department of Management Sciences Timergara Campus particularly is fully committed to equip the upcoming generation with quality education and practical exposure to the real world in the field of Management. In this regard, we are highly focused on curriculum improvement as well as on the research orientation and enhancement. In this way, we will be one of the best producers of Professional Managers, Leaders and Decision Makers to the country, who can play a vital role in the social and economic development of the country.
