The Department of Accounting and Finance, Garden Campus Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, was established to meet the growing demand for quality education and research in the fields of accounting and finance, particularly in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and more broadly across Pakistan. Since its inception, the department has remained committed to academic excellence and societal contribution, led by a team of competent and enthusiastic faculty members with expertise in key areas of financial management, auditing, taxation, banking, and corporate finance.
The department prides itself on a learning environment that combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications. It offers modern classrooms, well-equipped computer labs with financial modeling software, access to updated accounting standards, and a departmental library to support academic and professional development.
The Department of Accounting and Finance aims to build strong linkages with financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and industry to ensure its research and academic programs remain relevant to the current economic and financial landscape. These connections are vital in helping shape sound financial policy and practice at both the provincial and national levels.
Currently, the department offers BS, B. Com, MS, and PhD programs, with a student body of over 600 enrolled across different levels. Plans are underway to launch additional professional diplomas and certification courses to enhance practical knowledge and employability in the financial sector.
