I feel honoured to write a few words about the Department of English. The Department of English is among the pioneer departments of this University. Currently, the department offers admission PBS, MA and M.Phil English. The Department may also start the PhD programme soon.

The Department has got highly qualified faculty (4 PhDs and 9 MPhils), equipped with the latest pedagogical skills. It provides a conducive environment for academic pursuits. Along with academic activities, the Department also focuses on the co-curricular dimensions of the students. For this purpose, a Literary Club has been established which regularly arranges Debates, Essay-writing, Arts exhibition and other related literary competitions. Also, the department is second to none in pursuing extra-curricular activities.

It is hoped that the Department of English, in the coming few years, will achieve a distinct position across the province.
