I am feeling proud to lead one of the top teams of plant scientists of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan is one of the fastest-growing universities in the world and Pakistan. Department of Botany is one of the top-ranked departments in Pakistan because we have six world-class laboratories i.e. Plant Ecology, Plant Microbes Interactions, Plant Genetics, Plant Taxonomy, Biodiversity & Pharmacognosy, Plant Physiology and Bioinformatics.

All these laboratories are well equipped, fully established with modern technologies and well-trained staff. We have also established the Abdul Wali Khan University Botanical Garden, which is used for indigenous plant conservations, research and recreational activities. I am feeling honoured to be a part of a very talented and highly qualified faculty, having their PhD’s and Post Doctorates from Australia, Korea, Germany, France, UK, Canada, UAE, Karachi University, Punjab, Peshawar and Quaid-e-Azam University. Moreover, we have developed linkages with different national and international organizations such as The International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA-Syria-Jordan), University of Queensland Australia, Queensland University of Technology Australia, Charles Sturt University Wagga Wagga Australia, Kyungpook National University Korea and Colorado State University USA. We run BS, M.Sc. M. Phil. and PhD programs and give our students the best possible scientific environment and training in the field of Botany.
