One day workshop/Seminar on the title "Challenges of the present Age and the responsibilities of Religious Scholars" was held at the Video Conference room of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. It was organized by the department of Islamic Studies for the M.Phil and Ph.D Scholars of Islamic Studies and Arabic. Chairman Department of Islamic Studies and Arabic, Hafiz Salih-Ud-din Haqqani along with His faculty members and students were present on the occasion. Great religious Scholar, Director Monthly Alshariya Gujranwala, Secretary General Pakistan Shariat Council, Member Itehad Bainal Muslimeen Committee Government of Punjab, Ex;Vice Chancellor Shah Waliullah University Gujranwala ,Sheikhul Hadis" Allama Zahid-Ud-Rashidi" was the honorable Chief Guest. The Chief Guest presented a comprehensive and Scholarly analysis of the challenges of the present Era and the responsibilities of Religious Scholars. In the introduction of his speech he thanked AWKUM, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali and Chairman Department of Islamic Studies and Arabic Dr. Hafiz Salih-Ud-Din Haqqane for inviting him to the University. He also described his attachment with Mardan and also mentioned his working experience with the veteran politician Abdul Wali Khan.

He spoke convincingly and gave references to the age of the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions. He reiterated on the fact that dodging Modern Challenges is not prudence. We cannot ignore the challenges rather we need to face them, treat them and try to defeat them. He emphasized on the research Scholars to be meticulous and transparent in their research because their field of research is religion. Islam as a religion has the solution of all social, economic, political and international problems, he added. It is now vital to progress in science and technological advancement to be prepare for Modern challenges. The speaker explained everything in a convincing way, replied questions being Rosed and appreciated the progress and development of AWKUM in the shortest span of time.

The seminar ended with a happy note and words of praying.
