One day workshop on “Implementation of Plagiarism Policy at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan”

The QEC Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) organized a one day workshop on “Implementation of Plagiarism Policy at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan” on May 17, 2012. The Deputy Director QEC AWKUM welcomed the participants. Mr. Shah Husain Awan (DD QEC) and Dr. Zahoor Jan (Focal Person for detecting plagiarism at AWKUM) gave a detailed and comprehensive presentation plagiarism policy on institution level. A detailed session on the use of turnitin took place. The director QEC Dr. Said Khan Khalil who also chaired the session gave a comprehensive address about the policy. He stressed and referred to the functions of QEC including implementation of Plagiarism Policy. He stated that “QEC is responsible for promoting public confidence that the quality and standards of the award of degrees are enhanced and safeguarded”. QEC has to assured the standards of quality through implementation of Plagiarism Policy. With the launch of this policy our research activities will be standardized according to international standards. We will extend this policy to each and every faculty and Inshallah I am confident that a day will come where every assignment will be passed through anti plagiarism software.
