“Invent-The Entrepreneurial Challenge-2012”. So what is new in it? This year, Invent 2012 will be taking on board more than 130 HEC recognized universities from across Pakistan. So don't wait ask students to register for an introductory session.

OVERVIEW

“Invent-The Entrepreneurial Challenge-2012” is a unique student level business plan competition. It provides a platform to participants where they can come up with ideas pertinent to the domains of social entrepreneurship, technology entrepreneurship, agri-based entrepreneurship and other product and services. The program is unique in the sense that it includes steps that attempt to simulate real life such as having teams that have a mix of management, finance, marketing and technical team members from multiple universities/institutes, also best practices of practical planning and operating of a business would be covered through workshops conducted by experienced entrepreneurs/business executives and mentoring/coaching by mentors from the industry. In addition there is also an attempt to promote inter university and university and industry linkages.

 Who can participate in Invent?

Any student who is currently studying in any registered and HEC recognized University (refer to list in the Introduction to INVENT) is eligible to participate, regardless of any discipline or year of enrollment. 

One or more team members must have a business idea for which the team would write the business plan.

Teams would preferably be multi-university and multi-discipline

Each team should have at least 1-2 BBA/MBA students. The team would also have to have a domain expert as an advisor.

 

How do students and teams participate in Invent?

Students have to register to take part in Invent. For Invent there are number of registrations that have to be done. These are as follows:

Introductory Session: Introductory session would be held to describe what Invent-The Entrepreneurial Challenge is all about. For this all interested and eligible students of any university of Pakistan are required to register for the Introductory Session. This session would be conducted in Karachi and outside Karachi students would participate through video conference.

Idea and Team Registration: Students who are interested in participating in Invent must have an Idea and a Team. They would be required to register their idea and their team by filling out the necessary details on the Idea and Team Registration tab. Participants will ensure that teams are multi-disciplinary with at least two fields of study represented
