President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has decided to award  Sitara-e-Imtiaz to Prof. Dr. Ahsan Ali, Vice chancellor Abdul Wali khan University Mardan for rendering invaluable services and contribution in the field of archaeology . He has done his master in Archeology from department of Archeology, University of Peshawar. He not only stood first and got gold medal but no one till yet has scored marks more than his record .He was awarded MS degree in field and analytical techniques in Archeology. He also has the credit that he was awarded Ph.D scholarship and he completed his Ph.D from Cambridge UK, most prestigious University of the world, in 2000. In 2002,he has been appointed as Director Archeology and Museums. He established nine museums. He has been invited by the leading Universities of UK, America and Italy for delivering lectures on Archeology in Pakistan and has been won a good name for his country and nation. He has written seventeen 01books and he has also published more than sixty research Papers in national and international Anthologies. He remained on key and important portfolios and he has nation. Presently he has achieved a very tough task of the establishment of AWKUM. No doubt, he is a trend setter personality and within a short span of less than four years he has won for AWKUM the name of a great seat of learning. His untiring efforts has not only made the university a success but expanded it throughout the province in Nine Campuses where learning almost 6000 students are (searching for beacon of light) In research, throughout Pakistan, AWKUM stand on no 34 out of 111.
