Chief Minister Khyber pakhtunkhwa, Amir Haider Khan Hoti visited Abdul Wali Khan University
Chief Minister Khyber pakhtunkhwa, Amir Haider Khan Hoti visited Abdul Wali Khan University and laid down the foundation stone of the mega construction project of the university at Palatoo,Sheikh Maltoon, Mardan. The Honorable CM was warmly received by the Faculty and Staff of the University led by Prof. Dr.Ihsan Ali, Vice chancellor. In his welcome address the Vice Chancellor briefed the honorable CM about the progress made by the University during the last 3 and half years. He elaborated that the university managed to open 9 campuses with 5500 on-campus students , recruited 251 high qualified faculty including 93 PhDs, established 22 departments offering BS,MA/Msc and M.Phil /PhD admission, signed MoUs with foreign Universities , awarded 118 MS/PhD scholarships (foreign and indigenous) to its faculty (75 to 80 more Foreign scholarships are in pipline), established labs, libraries, student hostels ,strengthened transport fleet, comprising 73 buses for the pick and drop of students and faculty, provided high speed internet facility to all the campuses, held meetings of all its statutory bodies regularly etc.
The CM,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , Amir Haider Khan Hoti in his address highly appreciated the progress of the University and declared it a magic work. He added “Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali has never disappointed me and he has always honored his commitment. The credit of the stunning growth and development of the varsity both at academic and administrative levels goes to Prof.Dr. Ihsan and his management. I congratulate Dr.Ihsan and his team ”. He highly eulogized the role of VC AWKUM and declared it a role model for others to follow. He further said that the provincial Govt would be pleased to further extend financial assistance to the University.
