Two day workshop on Business Administration, organized by University of Kentucky (USA) and led by Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, concluded in Islamabad. In the workshop, 5 universities from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated that are: University of Peshawar, University of Bannu, Kohat University of Science and Technology, Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar and Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.
From University of Kentucky, Associate Professor of Management Sciences, Dr. Nancy Johnson, Dr. Kathy Kiran delivered a speech via video link and Evaluator, Dr. Janiette was present.
From Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Prof. Dr. ZahoorUlHaq, Dr. Shahid Jan, Dr. Muhammad Tariq , Dr. Javed Iqbal and Lecturer, Mr. Ihtisham participated in the workshop. It is pertinent to mention here that University of Kentucky signed MoU with the above mentioned 5 consortium universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the field of Business Administration on February 19, 2013 and every year 2 faculty members from each of the consortium universities attain Post-Doctoral Training at UKY.
Delegation of UKY trains faculty members of the consortium universities, in the field of Business Administration, every year. On the concluding day of the workshop, Director QEC (AWKUM), Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq delivered lecture on Learning Outcome and distributed shields and souvenirs among the UKY delegates. Department of Economics AWKUM contributed tremendously as Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq presented 7 papers, Dr. Javed Iqbal Presented 3 papers, Dr. Shahid Jan presented one paper and Dr. Muhammad Tariq presented one paper in the conference.
On the concluding day of the workshop, the delegation of UKY held meeting with the Vice-Chancellors of the consortium universities that are: Vice-Chancellor University of Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Rasool Jan, vice-Chancellor, University of Bannu, Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahim, Vice-Chancellor, Kohat University of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Fida Khattak, Director, Institute of Management Sciences, Dr. Mohsin and Vice-Chancellor, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali. Cultural representative from the US Embassy,Moulik D Berkana Public Affairs Officer US Consulate General Peshawar was also present in the meeting.
The delegation of UKY highlighted the significance of this project and thanked the Vice-Chancellors of the consortium universities for attending the meeting. The delegation emphasized on strengthening the relations with private sector and society to which all the Vice-Chancellors agreed. The meeting also discussed discounted tuition fees at UKY for MPhil and PhD students of the consortium universities besides student exchange programmers.
