Students and faculty members from AWKUM participated in 35th Beekeeping and management training workshop held at Agriculture Research Institute (ARI) Tranab farm, Peshawar (28-30th March, 2016).
The Training is arranged annually by ARI Tarnab Peshawar for professional and immature beekeepers to refresh their beekeeping skills. The aim of the training course was to increase knowledge of biology, behavior, diseases and seasonal management of honey bees among the participants.
This year the management decided to include students and faculty from various educational institutes including AWKUM. Therefore, Students from Department of Agriculture and Zoology with specialization in Entomology participated in the said training.
The training was a mix of lectures by the experts in the field of beekeeping and visits to bee apiaries for practical demonstration. The Director General ARI Tarnab in his concluding remarks appreciated the hard work of organizers and thanked the participants who traveled from various parts of the country to attend the training. At the end certificates were distributed among the participants of the workshops.
