For the first time, leading figures from media and academia will sit face to face and debate issues and challenges of higher education in Pakistan during a unique and interactive conference.

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) is the first university of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to organise such an event, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) and Success Foundation Pakistan.

The national conference on "The Quality of Education and the National Education Policy" will be held in Karachi on Wednesday, 3 February.

AWKUM Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Ihsan Ali will open the conference, which is to be presided by HEC Chairman Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed.

Vice chancellors of various universities from across Pakistan as well as editors, columnists, writers and senior journalists of national newspapers and magazines will attend the event. TV anchors, news directors, intellectuals and education experts will also be part of the discussions.
