Mr. Saeed-ur-Rahman, Assistant Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, AWKUM has successfully defended his Ph.D dissertation publically on 16-11-2015 at Department of Islamic Studies, PCA Block, Garden Campus, AWKUM which was attended by the Ph.D Public Defense Committee i.e. Prof. Dr. M. Umar (External Examiner) Ex. Chairman Department of Islamiyat, University of Peshawar, Dr. Siraj-ul-Islam Hanief (Research Supervisor), Prof. Dr. Salimullah Sha (Director Academics, AWKUM), Dr. Hafiz Salihuddin, (Chairperson, Department of Islamic Studies, AWKUM), Prof. Dr. Niaz Muhammad (Dean, Faculty of Arts & Humanities, AWKUM), faculty members and students especially M.Phil and Ph.D Scholars.

The Scholar presented a comprehensive summary of his Ph.D dissertation entitled as: "The Salient Features & Basic Themes of Selected Urdu Islamic Periodicals of the Indo-Pak: A Scholarly and Analytical Study". Afterwards, the participants asked various questions regarding the different aspects of his research topic which he answered in a scholarly way. The external examiner also put forth some questions and the scholar responded him positively. As a whole Mr. Saeed-ur-Rahman successfully defended his PhD thesis publically and is hereby recommended for the award of Ph.D Degree in Islamic Studies.

The chairperson Dr.Hafiz Salihuddin briefed the house about the rapid progress of Department of Islamic Studies and told that this is the 4th PhD Public defense and very soon the number of our Ph.D Faculty will reached to a dozen. He further added that all this was made possible by the matchless leadership of our worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali.

The Director Academics Prof. Dr. Salimullah also appreciated the contributions of the Chairperson and his team and congratulated him for the acceptance of the charge of Headship in the best interest of the department and AWKUM.
