The University's Chitral Campus is playing an incredible role in the uplift of higher education, said by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali.

While addressing the audience at the Chitral Campus, Prof. Dr. Ali further added that the Provincial Government's announcement of establishing a university in Chitral is a positive step towards the promotion of higher education in the region.

The Chitral Campus of AWKUM promises to provide all its expertise and facilitation for the establishment of a new University in Chitral by the Provincial Government, said by the Vice-Chancellor. He also reiterated that promotion of quality higher education is our top most priority and that is why 5 years ago the University's Bacha Khan Campus was established in Chitral, comprising of all the latest facilities and fulfilling the requirements of an independent university. He further said that the Bacha Khan Campus Chitral, AWKUM, should be granted the status of a full fledge independent university so that the provision of quality higher education is ensured at door step, for the people of Chitral.

The Coordinator of the campus was directed to assess the damage caused to the campus, by the recent floods, and take necessary actions immediately. Prof. Dr. Ali also advised that the campus shall remain closed until the rehabilitation work is completed.

In the end, Prof. Dr. Ali said that Abdul Wali Khan University welcomes the Provincial Government's announcement of establishing a university in Chitral and is ready to facilitate in this regard.
