Peshawar is also known as "Pekhawar" is the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the administrative center and central economic hub for thefederally administered tribal areas of Pakistan.Peshawar is situated in a large valley near the eastern end of the Khyber pas close to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar's strategic location on the crossroads of central Asia and south Asia has made it one of the most culturally vibrant and lively cities in the greater region. Peshawar is irrigated by various canals of the Kabul river and its tributary (Shah Alam,Naguman , Adezai , Serdaryab ) the Bara river. River Shah Alam is a tribute of river Kabul which goes to different areas of Peshawari.e Daman Afghani,ShakarPora, Shah Alam bridge, Bella (chakaikorona)& Islam Abad (Mian gujar)etc. River SHAH ALAM is a branch of river Kabul which goes to different villages of Peshawari.e. DAMAN AFGHANI,BAKHSHO,KHAZANA,SHAH ALAM & my village MIAN GUJAR (IslamAbad)etc.In the upper areas the water is so clean but in the place of Shah Alam there is a stream are fallen in this river which are called "BUDNI NALA". This book deals with the fish fauna of River Shah Alam.
