112 MS/MPhil/PhD thesis topics and supervisors have been approved for the Departments of Computer Science, Physics, Bio-Chemistry, Economics, Law, Chemistry and Education.

The 11th meeting of the Advance Study and Research Board (ASRB), Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, was held under the Chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali. Prof. Dr. Ikram Ul Haq from University of Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Saeed Anwar, Dean Social Sciences University of Hazara, Prof. Misal Zada from University of Peshawar, Prof. Abdur Rehman fromUniversity of Hazara, Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq, Director Acadmics (AWKUM), Prof. Dr. Khanzadi Fatima, Dean Faculty of Sciences (AWKUM), Prof. Dr. Farman Ali from University of Peshawar, Dr. Shah Khesro from University of Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Jehanzeb Khalil, Dean Faculty of Arts (AWKUM), Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad, Dr. Amir Zaman, Mr. Raham Sher, Dr. Riasat Ali, Dr. Ghaffar, Mr. Sher Alam Khan (Registrar) and Director ORICS, Mr. Tariq Mehmood attended the meeting.

While addressing the meeting, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali reiterated that we will have to focus more on research and experimentation so that we could walk alongside the most developed nations. He further added that even though being there for just 6 years, AWKUM has been ranked 2nd in the province and 12th countrywide as per the latest University Rankings issued by HEC. He emphasized that all this has been possible because of quality research. In his concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Ali stressed on quality research and its impacts on the development of nations around the world.
