Inter University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS) has announced to organize Pakistan 's first ever Social Sciences Expo on 19-20th September 2015 and International Social Sciences Conference on 9-10th January 2016 at Islamabad.

As per follow up of Roadmap for Strengthening Social Sciences in Pakistan, announced by Inter University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences, an autonomous national alliance of more than 20 universities of Pakistan, National Social Sciences Expo would be organized on 19-20th September 2015 while International Social Sciences Conference would be held on 9-10th January 2016 at Islamabad. It was decided during the meeting of organizing committee which was attended by the officials of national coordination office of inter university consortium and senior deans and officials of Abdul Wali khan University Mardan. The committee would work under the chairmanship of renowned social scientist and vice chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali.

While describing the objectives of these two mega events, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali said that through these activities, Pakistani universities, academic, policy makers, research and development organizations, government departments and civil society would join hands to strengthen social sciences in Pakistan and would showcase their achievements and success stories in social sciences. These events would also be greatly helpful in raising the importance of social sciences among Pakistani youth, media as well as general public and would create soft image of Pakistan. He also hoped that these programs would also play a pivotal role for promoting Pakistani culture, rich heritage, visual and performing art and tourism.
