Chairman, Higher Education Commission Islamabad, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad announced the University Rankings for the year 2014 according to which Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan is ranked 12th in Pakistan and 2nd in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Abdul Wali Khan University, in a short span of mere 5 years, achieved this milestone due to its quality research, provision of quality education to the students, modern equipment, highly qualified faculty, its commitment to invest in its faculty, standard infrastructure, fully equipped Library, Computer Labs and modern science laboratories.

It is pertinent to mention here that all the professional programmes of AWKUM including Education, Computer Science, Management Science, Agriculture, Pharmacy and Laware duly accredited by the concerned HEC councils.

On the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali, while congratulating the university administration, faculty members and students, reiterated that AWKUM's prestigious rankingis evident of the performance and standard that AWKUM has been carrying since its establishment and this is the reason that AWKUM led its way in the field of education leaving behind the renowned universities of the country including International Islamic University, Islamabad, Fatima Jinnah University etc. Prof. Dr. Ali further added that 2 campuses of AWKUM have already been upgraded to the status of independent universities. Adding further, he said that the University is currently home to 8,653 students while the number of PhD faculty members has reached to 147. While showing strong commitment to AWKUM's vision of providing quality education to the masses at doorstep, Prof. Dr. Ali said that in the years to come AWKUM will not only mark its place in the top 3 rankings nationwide but will also prove a strong competitor of the renowned universities worldwide.
