In recognition of outstanding contributions and services, 10 foreign ambassadors, representatives of various International and national development organizations and leading academicians based in Pakistan , were conferred with Global Muslim Diplomat Excellence Award 2015 at the ceremony held on Thursday at Islamabad Club, Islamabad. The ceremony was jointly organized by The Diplomatic Insight and Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies Pakistan.

President State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan was the chief guest on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion, he lauded the efforts of the organizers for arranging such an event for paying homage to the services of the ambassadors of Muslim Countries residing in Pakistan who are not only promoting the relationship amongst the countries and Pakistan but also standing by us in all the difficult times including natural and manmade calamities. He has also appreciated the efforts of the ambassadors of Muslim brotherly countries for supporting the cause of Kashmir which is lingering on since long. He said that we need to stand firm and untied to resolve the conflicts of the Muslim world like Palestine, Kashmir, Nagorno-Karabakh and Cyprus. He further said that organizing such activities will keep the momentum going for supporting and standing by each other in best possible way especially utilizing the resources.

The Global Muslim Diplomat Excellence Award is annual segment along with Diplomatic Excellence Award that has been initiated by the Diplomatic Insight in collaboration with the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPD), an autonomous non-governmental, and non-profitable research organization working to promote global peace through dialogue and diplomacy by sharing knowledge, research, analysis and policy developments in the areas of peace-diplomacy, peace-building, conflict resolution, conflict transformation and conflict management. A high profiled committee comprising of leading personalities from business community, bureaucracy, academia and media nominated various personalities for conferment of awards. The ambassadors, diplomats and dignitaries from various walks of life also attended the ceremony.
