53rd meeting of the Scholarship Selection Committee, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, was held on January 29, 2015, under the Chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali.

The meeting was attended by the Dean Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Jehanzeb Khan Khalil, Dean Faculty of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Khanzadi Fatima Khattak, Director QEC, Prof. Dr. Sher Afzal, Registrar, Mr. Sher Alam Khan, Director Human Resource Development, Dr. Amir Zaman, Treasurer, Mr. Muhammad Tariq, Deputy Treasurer, Mr. Arsh-Ur-Rehman and Acting Director P&D, Mr. Sayim Sohail.

In the meeting, 6 candidates, for Bacha Khan Overseas MS/MPhil/PhD Scholarship Programme, were recommended to the University Selection Board. The meeting also recommended 8 candidates, for Bacha Khan Indigenous MS/MPhil/PhD Scholarship Programme, to the University Selection Board.

Furthermore, the committee awarded 8 scholarships to its faculty and staff under Overseas MS/MPhil/PhD Scholarship Programme in the subject areas of Ancient Civilization, Computer Science, Environmental Sciences, Law, Management Sciencs, Political Science, Statistics and Zoology.

In the meeting, MOU with Brunel University London, UK, was renewed for another 3 years. On behalf of Brunel University London, UK, the MOU was signed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education and International), Professor Andrew George while on behalf of AWKUM, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali signed the MOU.

On occasion, Prof. Dr. Ali reiterated that AWKUM has been providing ample opportunities to its faculty and staff for their academic and professional nourishment from the very 1st day and will continue to do so. He further added that AWKUM considers its faculty and staff as a valuable asset.
