Dr. Muhammad Athar Hussain, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, participated in the 2nd meeting of ISO PC288 WG1 at Sultan Qaboos University Muscat Oman. The purpose of the meeting was to work on the draft of ISO 21001 that is Quality management system for educational organizations: Requirements with guidance to use. Experts from France, Portugal, Germany, South Korea, China, Lebanon, Mexico, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, UK, Canada, Oman and other member countries participated in the meeting. Dr. Athar highlighted several points regarding the socio-cultural context of each member country and emphasized on detailed consideration while developing standards for educational organizations of all the countries. Introduction of quality assurance practices in Pakistani university by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan was also argued.
