The whole nation mourns at the tragic incident of Army Public School Peshawar. People from every walk of life expressed their condolences to the people of Pakistan over the loss of lives in the Peshawar attack.

In this regard Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan hosted a Taziyati Mushaira at Main Campus to show solidarity with the victims. Famous poets including Prof. Dr. Humayun Huma, Abdul Subhan Khan, Aimal Khattak, Prof. Dr. Fozia, Prof. Farman-U-din Bakhshalvi, Wadood Hashnaghary, Ghazi siyal, Prof. Tariq Danish, Ashraf Ghamgeen, Haroon Rashid Khattak, Ghamgeen Mayary, Naeem Bawar, Asarjan, Zahoor Islam Azhar, Etc. From various corners of KpK (Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsada, Peshawar and Bannu) participated in the event. Their poetry not only reflected the Peshawar school attack but also depicted the various issues connected to the incident.

The Mushaira was presided by the well known poet Israr Da Toru. Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali, the Honorable Vice Chancellor welcomed the participants. In his speech he highlighted the important role of poets in a society and praised their valuable contributions. He also shared his own verses in poets' appreciation.
