Visit of Dr. Abdul Samad

ABDUL WALI KHAN UNIVERSITY MARDAN

Dr. Abdul Samad, Director Archaeology and Museums, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan visited the site of Koi Tangay Kandaray located at Mian Khan Village of Teshil Katlang, District Mardan on November 17, 2014. The purpose of this visit was to investigate and examine excavation progress conducted by the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. During the visit Mr. Abid-ur-Rehman (Field Director) has briefed the delegation on excavation progress and achievements. Also chronology which produced through this excavation along with material evidences was shown to all guests on the site which were highly appreciated. Dr. Samad as an archaeologist has checked most of the unearthed materials particularly the coins and exposed structures and said that in the regions of Mian Khan and Sangao this is the first extensive excavation after Prof. Ahmad Hasan Dani at Sangao Cave in 1962. Dr. Samad in his last remarks congratulated excavation team and particularly the Project Director Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali (Archaeologist/Vice Chancellor) for such a successful excavations.
