Mr. Zahid Ullah, Lecturer Department of Political Science, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, departed for his PhD studies to University of York, UK on October 30, 2014. The University of York is one of the finest universities of the world and is ranked 120 as per the QS world university rankings 2014/15.

Mr. Zahid had applied for Overseas PhD Scholarships Batch-X, for AWKUM faculty, and was selected for the said scholarship. His scholarship is tenable for a period of 3 years extendable to one more year in terms of stipend only, as per the university's criteria.

On the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ihsan ali felicitated Mr. Zahid upon the grant of AWKUM's prestigious Overseas PhD Scholarship under the faculty development programme and said that the scholarship awardees must make the most out of this opportunity.
