ABDUL WALI KHAN UNIVERSITY MARDAN

While speaking in a Seminar, organized by The School of Humanities Massey University, entitled 'The Cultural Heritage of Pakistan' dated October 16, 2014 at Building One, Colombo Village, Massey University New Zealand, Vice-Chancellor AWKUM, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali reiterated that Pakistan's culture is extremely rich with amalgamation of different sub cultures.

Prof. Dr. Ali further added that Pakistan has been the cradle of civilization that dates back more than five million years. He further said that over centuries, through consecutive streams of migrations from the North West, as well as by internal migrations across the Sub-Continent, Aryans, Persians, Greeks, Arabs and Mughals settled in the region and have left behind archaeological sites in Pakistan that are now being preserved.

Prof. Dr. Ali also spoke about the civilizations of Moen-jo-Daro, Harappa, Gandhara, Buddhist remains, Taxila and Thatta.

In the Seminar Prof. Dr. Ali entertained a number of questions, asked by the students and scholars, relating to the cultural heritage of Pakistan.

At the end of the Seminar, Prof. Dr. Ali headed for a group photo with the Pakistani High Commissioner to New Zealand, Deputy High Commissioner, Director International Relations, staff of Massey University and HEC scholars.
