Visit to Massey University New Zealand

ABDUL WALI KHAN UNIVERSITY MARDAN

During his visit to Massey University New Zealand, Vice-Chancellor, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali met with the HEC scholars and Massey University staff at Wharerata, Massey University Palmerston North on October 14, 2014.

On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Ali discussed AWKUM's vibrant faculty development programme, under which 73 scholars are pursuing their PhD's in the high ranked universities of the world. He also spoke about the Garden Campus where one of the modern research centers of the country is being established. He further added that AWKUM strongly emphasizes on research.

While talking to the staff and HEC scholars, Prof. Dr. Ali also highlighted the abundant milestones achieved by AWKUM since its establishment in 2009. He added that AWKUM is home to almost 8,000 students in more than 20 departments and 7 campuses located in all corners of the province. He said that we currently hold 120 PhD academic staff and in the next 2 to 3 years this number will go beyond 250.

From thereon, Prof. Dr. Ali visited Massey University's Library. Prof. Dr. Ali admired Massey's Library for its huge collection of books that are easily available to the staff, students and researchers.
