One Day Basic Life Support and First Aid Training in Collaboration with Rescue 1122 Mardan Organized by the Department of Biotechnology

The Department of Biotechnology, AWKUM, organized a one day Basic Life Support and First Aid Training in collaboration with Rescue 1122 Mardan at the Main Hall, University College of Science Shankar on May 15, 2014.

In the training, a great number of students were trained for various emergency situations including accidents, burns, bleeding, fractures, airway blockage, cardiac arrests and various shock conditions etc.

On this occasion, the heads of the science Departments, Dr. Muhammad Hamayun, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Dr. Sher Afzal, Dr. Farman Ali, Mr. Badshah Islam and students from all the science Departments were present.

While addressing the gathering, the District Emergency Officer Dr. Haris Habib, the chief guest on the occasion reiterated that the students must utilize the knowledge they have acquired for the services of the community. He also congratulated the people of KPK and especially Mardan, for having these two great institutions: Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Rescue 1122 Mardan. He added that one is offering quality Education to the people of the area at their door-step while the other is trying to help them protect against emergency situations.

In the end, the Chairman Department of Biotechnology, Dr. Ayaz Ahmad extended a vote of thanks to the guests and participants. In the concluding remarks, Dr. Ayaz Ahmad added that this event is the beginning of a very useful partnership that will prove extremely significant to the people of the area.
