A one day study tour was organized by the Department of Zoology, Buner Campus to Pakistan Museum of Natural History Islamabad on April 26, 2014.
The Coordinator, Buner Campus, Mr. Kausar Saeed, Lecturer Mr. Waqas Ahmad Shams & the M.Sc. 1st semester students participated in this study tour.
The aim of the tour was to explore the fauna & flora of Pakistan that were present in the form of replicas, stuffed & picture forms. The Entomology, Fisheries, Wild Life, Earth Sciences, Ecological niche, Botanical Garden, oceanography & culture heritage labs that were artificially designed, were visited.
On the tour, the students learnt about animal & plant collection, preservation, curation, stuffing, animal taxidermy and model preparation. The students were also taught to identify plants, animals, minerals, rocks, fossils and precious stones that were available there.
