ABDUL WALI KHAN UNIVERSITY MARDAN

Department of Economics' collaborative project for Asian Highlands Water Governance Project with Intercooperation Pakistan came to end as students of MSc Economics completed their 3 months internship with Intercooperation Pakistan. The project's objective was to conduct a research thesis on the topic "Perception of Communities on Livelihoods & Climate Change". During this internship program, students attended different seminars/workshops on the Research Methodology, Data Collection, and Computer Software for analysis of data etc and collected data through questionnaires prepared by Intercooperation Pakistan in Garam Chashma, Karim Abad and Gubor.

Dr. Arjumand Nizami, Dr. Jawad and Mr. Asad Salim (Representatives/Supervisors) from Intercooperation Pakistan attended the closing ceremony (which was organized on April 21, 2014), presented their findings, shared their experiences and informed the audience that the research study is in final stages of drafting and compilation and would be presented sooner in the coming future. Meanwhile, students presented their case studies and shared overall experiences throughout the internship period, which was greatly appreciated by the audience.

Representatives from Intercooperation Pakistan appreciated the enthusiasm with which students contributed to the utmost of their capabilities in the research study. Intercooperation Pakistan is looking forward for further opportunities to work in collaboration with Bacha Khan Campus in general and the Department of Economics in Particular, they expressed.

Mr. Tahir Mahmood, Chairman Department of Economics, Mr. Najeeb Ahmad, Lecturer, Department of Economics shared their views and appreciated the collaborative effort declaring it as a major breakthrough for the newly graduated students of the department and expressed their serious interest in such collaborative practices in the future as well.

Coordinator Bacha Khan Campus Chitral also thanked Intercooperation Pakistan for providing campus' students with such productive opportunity and hoped that such practices will be kept on continued in the future as well.

Coordinator Bacha Khan Campus Chitral, Dr. Arjumand Nizami, Dr. Jawad and Mr. Tahir Mehmood awarded the students with Certificates and appreciation remarks for their good work. Intercooperation Pakistan also presented a shield in appreciation & recognition of the extensive support provided by the Department's Faculty in particular and the Campus in general.
