The staff of University Museum, AWKUM plan to start archaeological excavations at the site of Koi Tangay Kandaray located in the Mian Khan Village of Katlang Union Council in District Mardan under the directorship of Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali (Vice Chancellor, AWKUM), aiming to find out the cultural profile of the area and to unearth hidden treasure which will be displayed at AWKUM Museum. The excavations team strongly encourages interested students for joining in the excavation process and learn field techniques. This activity will allow students at one side to learn practical fieldwork techniques and on other side will open ways for researchers to investigate past through material evidence and promote the hidden treasure of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular and Pakistan in general. For this research activity, an excavation team consisting of the following expertise led by a renowned archaeologist Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali will conduct excavations from tomorrow April 29, 2014. All interested students and researchers are requested to contact the Field Officer and Assistant for all type of field activities.
