The District Government, Mardan in collaboration with Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan under Youth Carnival Programme of Jawan Markaz organized a Painting and Calligraphy Competition at University Museum, AWKUM on 27 March, 2014.

A total of 22 participants including 7 females from various colleges of District Mardan and Swabi participated in the said competition. Mr. Aamir Latif (Deputy Commissioner, Mardan), Mr. Sahahab Khan (Assistant Commissioner, Mardan), Mr. Irshad Sodhar (Assistant Commissioner, Takht-i-Bahi, Mardan), Professor Dr. Zahoor-ul-Haq (Registrar, AWKUM), Mr. Ibrar Hussain (Provost/Focal Person, AWKUM), Pir Asfandiyar (Director Administration), Mr. Abid-ur-Rehman (Curator/Chief Organizer, AWKUM), Museum and administration staff attended the event.

On the occasion, the Chief Guest, Mr. Aamir Latif (Deputy Commissioner, Mardan) appreciated the efforts made the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan for hosting this event. In his remarks, he further said that the regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are full of talent and through Jawan Markaz activities we became able to identified outstanding youth talent.

At the end of competition, Mr. Shahab Khan distributed certificates and cash prizes among all participants and the names of top two candidates in painting category Mr. Aamir Sohail from ANSI college, Mardan (1st Position holder), Ms. Aniqa Shah from F.D Inter College, Mardan (2nd Position holder) and in calligraphy category Mr. Mustajab Ali from G.D. College Lund Khwar (1st Position holder) and Mr. Obaid from Fazle Haq College Mardan (2nd Position holder) are forwarded to Provincial Government for mega event.
