39th meeting of the Scholarship Selection Committee, AWKUM, was held on March 6, 2014 at the Main Campus. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali.

The meeting was attended by the Dean Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Jehanzeb Khan Khalil, Director Academics, Dr. Qasim, Treasurer, Faizan Malik, Director HRD, Dr. Amir Zaman, Acting Director P&D, Mr. Sayim Sohail, Deputy Treasurer, Arsh-Ur-Rehman and Assistant Director HRD, Afzaal Humayun Khan.

In the meeting, applications of 11 PhD faculty members for Post-Doc Fellowship Programme were discussed. The meeting unanimously approved Dr. Abdul Wadood, Department of Biochemistry, and Dr. Momin Khan, Department of Chemistry, for the award of Post-Doc Fellowship Programme in University of Manchester, UK (world ranking 33) and University of Bristol, UK (world ranking 30) respectively.

In the meeting various issues were discussed related to the Overseas and Indigenous PhD scholars as well as advertisement for the next batch of Overseas PhD Scholarships.

On the occasion Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali reiterated that ample opportunities would be provided to the faculty in order to strengthen them professionally and academically. He further said that it’s our job to provide you the platform while it’s your job to compete and ensure that you make the most of the opportunities that you are provided.
