Buddhist monks and its followers including Korean, Chinese and Thai visited here on Wednesday their religious sites located in the Takhtbai Kandaraat of Mardan district and performed their worship over there.
The foreign Buddhists roamed in different parts of their religious sites in the Takhtbai Kandaraat and appreciated the efforts and measures of government of Pakistan for its preservations and maintenance.
They admitted that Pakistan had a rich heritage and cultural sites of Buddhist located in different parts of the country, adding that it needed to be explored for its followers across the World.
Later the foreigner guests flanked by Pakistani officials attended the concluded session the three-day International conference titled “The Role of Islam and Buddhism in Promoting World Peace and Harmony” held at the main auditorium of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.
The said three-day international conference was organized by Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan in collaboration with Society of Asian Civilization Pakistan and its two sessions were held at the Islamabad and the last day session was held at the said varsity in Mardan.
The concluded session was attended by Dr. Pornchai Pinyapong of Thailand, President World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth, Prof. Dr. Z. A. Qureshi, President of Society of Asian Civilization Pakistan, Prof. Dr. SO Gilsu of the Republican of South Korea, Director of Pure Land Buddhist Association and other relevant officials.
Dr. Pornchai Pinyapong, President World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth, on the accession, said that world needed peace in the present time. He stressed upon different religions of the world to perform its role for make the world and a peaceful living place for humankind.

Said, “Islam teaches us lessen of peace,”. He said that the followers of Islam were very peace loving people and there was much respect for others.
He further said, “Peace is a primary component for any country or society to prosper”.
He added that irrespective of our ethnicity, religion, cast and creed we must join hands and strive to ensure global peace.
The foreigners, later on, were given the university shields and other souvenirs of Pakhtun areas by the vice chancellor of AWKUM and the university students.
