8th meeting of the Finance and Planning Committee, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, was held on January 23, 2014 at the Main Campus of the university. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor AWKUM, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali.

Dean of Science, Prof. Dr. Saeed Anwar, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Zahoor-ul-Haq, Additional Secretary Finance, Mr. Raza Ullah, Chief Planning Officer HED, Mr. Raza Shah, Assistant Directot Finance Higher Education Islamabad, Mr. Samar Sabtain, Chief Engineer C&W, Mr. Ijaz Yousafzai, Representative Academic Council, Col (Retd). Iftikhar, Director Finance, Mr. Faizan Malik, Deputy Director Finance, Mr. Arsh-ur-Rehman, Deputy Director Finance, Mr. Muhammad Tariq and Audit Officer, Mr. Arbab Ijaz were present in the meeting.

Director Finance, Mr. Faizan Malik gave a detailed briefing to the attendees of the meeting on the budget 2013-14. In the meeting a revised estimated budget of Rs. 970.25 Million for the current fiscal year while a recurring expenditure of Rs. 1138.29 Million for the next fiscal year was approved. Other than this, posts in Art and Design College and University Hospital were recommended. In the meeting, a power plant for generating 1.5 megawatt energy was approved in principal.

All these decisions would be presented in the coming meeting of the syndicate. The meeting of the Finance and Planning Committee, expressed satisfaction over all the developmental works and appreciated the fast growth of the university.

Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali reiterated that keeping the power short fall in view; the university would soon start working over the establishment of 1.5 megawatt power generation plant.
