The two day International Conference on Computational and Social Sciences organized by Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, concluded on January 21st, 2014. Professors and research scholars from local as well as foreign universities participated in the conference and presented 46 research papers on various topics. International participants expressed gratitude on the occasion and were of the view that such activities would help in promoting research. Officials of the Software companies expressed keen interest in the softwares made by the students.

Addressing the gathering on the concluding day of the International Conference, the Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali reiterated that there is no scarcity of talent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and in different fields of life, in the field of education too, the people of KPK have achieved abundant milestones. He further said that the solution to the problems of Pakistan lies in research. The students should continue their researches and should primarily focus on education. He added that the future of Pakistan is bright and in future too we will continue organizing such conferences which will serve as a source of encouragement for the students and faculty. Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali further said that it has been 4 and half years since AWKUM has been established and in this short span of time the university is home to more than 7,000 students and 114 PhD faculty members, which is indeed an honor for the university. He concluded his speech by saying that the university will continue playing its role in improving the standard of education.
