Chairman Higher Education Commission, Dr. Imtiaz Hussain Gillani, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of International Conference on Computational and Social Sciences held at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, reiterated that the Universities, along with improving the standard of education, must also strive to come up with solutions to the problems that our country is facing in the shape of power crisis, instability and weak economy. Dr. Imtiaz was also the chief guest on the occasion.

Vice Chancellor, AWKUM, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali as well as the Chairman Department of Computer Science, Dr. Sher Afzal Khan also addressed the gathering. In the conference the scholars of Education, Management Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science Department will present their thesis.

Vice Rector, Eastern Mediterranean University North Cyprus, Dr. Majid Hashemipour, Vice Chancellor University of Haripur, Prof. Dr. Nasser Ali Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Swabi, Dr. Noor Jehan, Vice Chancellor University of Swat, Dr. Jehanzeb Khan, Dr. N. B. Jumani, Vice Chancellor University of Malakand, Prof. Dr. Jauhar, Vice Chancellor Abasyn University, Dr. Jameel and Dr. Munir Ahmad Khan from NUST, will be presiding the sessions of the international conference. While Dr. Nazeer Ahmad Zafar from King Faisal University KSA, Dr. Farooq Ahmad and several others will be the Keynote Speakers in the international conference.

Officials of the IT industry Pakistan also took part in the international conference who will be interviewing 200 students of AWKUM for job and internships.

Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali, on the occasion reiterated that the basic idea behind this conference is to involve the universities in collaborative activities that would be beneficial for all. He further said that AWKUM is a great platform for all the national and international participating universities to take a step forward towards joint collaborations.
