Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali, inaugurated the newly constructed academic block at the University College for Women, AWKUM on 9th January, 2014.

In the inauguration ceremony, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Zahoor-ul-Haq, Dean Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Saeed Anwar, Dean Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Jehanzeb, Provost, Ibrar Hussain and Director Administration, Pir Asfandyar were present.

The academic block comprises of 14 class rooms, day care and an examination hall. A total of 65 million rupees have been utilized over the construction of Women College.

Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali, on the occasion reiterated that Women are an essential component of the society and without them being educated, we as a nation cannot progress. He further said while addressing the students that University College for Women AWKUM is among the top colleges of the province and in the coming few years it would take the shape of a complete women university, for which you will have to raise your voices. He added that in the coming 6 months, a separate female hostel and a central library would be constructed at UCW.

In the end, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali distributed certificates among the students for their brilliant performances.
