Construction of the Tomb of the great leader of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gaju Khan, has been completed and Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has been assigned the responsibility to look after its maintenance. In this regard, a ceremony was organized in the Gajwanu Dheri area of Swabi in which the Vice Chancellor AWKUM, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali, Registrar Dr. Saeed Islam, Provost, Ibrar Hussain, Director Administration, Pir Asfandyar, Media In-charge, Abid Mehmood, former provincial minister for Information, Abdul Subhan Khan, Prof. Farman-Ud-Din, officials of the C&W department and members of the Civil Society were present.

On this occasion, while briefing the audience, the XEN C&W Mr. Aziz Khattak said that a budget of Rs. 100 million was allocated for the construction of this Tomb. The Tomb has been constructed and decorated in accordance with the culture and customs of the Pakhtuns.

Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali, speaking on the occasion, reiterated that Gaju Khan Baba had been a great leader in this part of the country who struggled hard for the freedom, prosperity and development of the Pakhtun nation. He further said that Abdul Wali Khan University has also published a book about the personality and life style of Gaju Khan Baba. Furthermore he added that the personality and life style of Gaju Khan Baba is a model for the new generation. He said that it is our mutual responsibility to aware the common people about the untiring efforts and exalted achievements of Gaju Khan Baba. He further said that Abdul Wali Khan University is conducting a thorough research on the lives and struggle of all the great pakhtun leaders of this region. While concluding his address, Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali announced the construction of a library at the Tomb of Gaju Khan Baba.
