Professor Dr. Ihsan Ali, Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Christian Hegemer Director Institute of International Cooperation, Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) signed a MoU of mutual cooperation. Prof. Dr. Zahoor ul Haq, Dean Faculty of Arts, and Dr. Muhammad Qasim, Chairman Department of Environmental Sciences were also present on the occasion.

Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali on the occasion reiterated that due to common aims and objectives, collaboration between AWKUM and HSF will benefit both the parties and would result in a wider reach of projects that both partners are pursuing particularly in the field of Environmental Sciences. He further said that it is a great initiative for explorations in the field of Environmental Sciences.

At the MoU signing ceremony, it was agreed that particular Project themes and topics as well as the time frame for their planning and implementation will be determined on the basis of annual agreements. Upon agreeing on project cooperation, HSF will contribute both scientific expertise as well as funds for projects undertaken in collaboration with Department of Environmental Sciences.
