6th meeting of the Senate of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan was held on June 13, 2012 at the Governor House Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Honorable Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer ShoukatUllah presided over the meeting.

Appraising the ample achievements of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan in a short span of just four years, the Honorable Governor reiterated that we need to maintain standards by all means.

The Governor, who is also the Chancellor of the University, displayed deep interest in the efforts being made for the faculty development. He said that AWKUM will soon become one of the greatest universities of the Country as the foreign PhD scholars will return and AWKUM will become a great seat of research.

The meeting approved of a budget worth Rs. 894.30 Million for the University in the current fiscal year and a budget worth Rs. 957.93 Million in the coming fiscal year. The statutes of the University, medical and conveyance allowance for the employees were approved of in the meeting. Furthermore, a decision was taken in the meeting to appoint the Principal University College for Women as a Senate member.
The Governor KPK assured of full support to the University and would provide a better future to the coming generations. He also said that no stone would be left unturned in taking this institution to the zenith of success.
