Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Celebrated International Museum Day

 

Every year since 1977 International Museum Day is organized worldwide on or around May 18. This day is celebrated to spread awareness in masses about the importance of museums in the development of society and to revive ancient civilizations of the world.

In this regard, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan organized International Museum Day at the Main Campus of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. Faculty and students from different colleges and schools were invited on this occasion. The participation of students, faculty and staff of Fazle Haq College Mardan, with ample interest and enthusiasm, is worth mentioning here.

The Registrar Abdul Wali Khan University Prof. Dr. Saeed Islam accompanied by Provost Ibrar Hussain, Admin officer Ayaz, Deputy Registrar Academics Tariq Mehmood, Chairman Department of English Naveed Khattak and Amjad Khan lecturer Department of English, faculty of the invited colleges & schools and students paid a visit to the museum of Archaeology and Ethnology Abdul Wali Khan University.

Prof. Dr. Saeed Islam on the occasion reiterated that museums play an extremely vital role in the preservation of cultures therefore museums should be established and should be taken care of as they testify about the different cultures, norms and values of society. Furthermore, he applauded the efforts of Miss Meher Tabaan, Curator Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, for the maintenance and decoration of the museum.
