The Long Island University, New York , USA showed great interest in awarding a project of Archeological Education worth 0.5 Million Dollars to Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. A Video Conference in this regard was held on 23rd April, 2013.
In the Video Conference Abdul Wali Khan University was represented by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Ihsan Ali, Registrar Saeed ul Islam, Lecturer Abid and the Dean of Arts Prof . Dr . Zahoor Ul Haq while from University of Long island the dean of Arts Prof. Dr. Robert Hanatin and Associate Professor department of curriculum and instruction, College of Education and Information Sciences Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad attended the conference.
The Duration of the project would be one year which would be extendable. The project would focus on Environmental Science, Media, Arts, and music. Workshops will also be arranged in this regard.
In the first phase of the project 25 faculty members and students from Abdul Wali Khan University would go to the United States of America for a specialized training in july 2014.
Later on in the 2nd phase of the project 10 members of the faculty would go to the United States of America in which members of Bacha Khan Trust and Abasyn Arts Concil would also be included.
