ABDUL WALI KHAN UNIVERSITY MARDAN

Dr. Hafiz Salihuddin Haqqani, Chairman Department of Islamic Studies attended two days workshop at A.I.O.U Islamabad on the topic: “Standardization of Research Methodology in M.Phill & PhD (Islamic Studies) Programs in Pakistani Universities”

The Department of Islamic Thought, History & Culture had arranged a two days workshop in Collaboration with Higher Education Commission Islamabad on the title mentioned above.

Vice chancellors, Deans, Directors, Chairmen and chairpersons from 40 universities had participated in the workshop. The Workshop were consisted of four (4) Sessions presided by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Sangi, Vice Chancellor A.I.O.U, Prof. Dr. Anees Ahmed Vice Chancellor Ripha International University Islamabad, Prof Dr. S.M. Zaman Ex-Vice Chancellor A.I.O.U Islamabad and Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar respectively.
Besides the presidential addresses of the mentioned worthy personalities the key note speeches were delivered by          

  1. Prof.Dr.Justice.Muhammad Al-Ghazali Judge Supreme Court of Pakistan.
  2. Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Vice-Chancellor, University of Peshawar (UOP).
  3. Prof. Dr. Tahir Mansoori, DG Shariah Academy, IIUI, Islamabad.

Dr. Hafiz Salih Ud Din Haqqani Chairman Department of Islamic Studies during his speech elaborated the miraculous progress of the AWKUM in the shortest span of time and said that it all became possible only due to the dynamic personality of Prof: Dr. Ihsan Ali, the Vice Chancellor, AWKU Mardan, and his untiring efforts that their University along with so many campuses has attained a distinctive position.

Similarly, if the Department of Islamic Studies, over here has shown such enormous progress, it is also attributed to the Charismatic leadership and special attention of Prof: Dr. Ihsan Ali. While explaining the details of programs offered in the Department of Islamic Studies, he said that by the grace of Allah there are seven (07) PhD Faculty Members in this Department. He further stated that it was a precious opportunity for him to represent and introduce Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan and the Department of Islamic Studies in the assembly of dignitaries of around fifty Universities of the country. He admired the dynamic leadership of Prof: Dr. Ihsan Ali for all this progress and innovative programs.

In the end, Dr. Salih Ud Din Haqqani offered thanks to all of the participants especially to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Baqir khan khakwani, Dean Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic, Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad.
