Meeting of the Selection Board for Overseas PhD Scholarships and Bacha Khan Chair Scholarship Program was held on October 11, 2013 at the Main Campus, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor AWKUM Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali.

This was the 1st Selection Board of Bacha Khan Chair Scholarship Program and 8th Selection Board of Overseas PhD Scholarship in which a total of 65 candidates were interviewed. Candidates residing in USA, Germany, UK, China, Ireland, Japan and Korea were interviewed through Skype. Scholarships were for the Department of English, Mathematics, History, Economics, Law, Computer Science, Pharmacy, Political Science, Sociology, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences and Management Sciences.

On the occasion six Vice Chancellors from all over the province attended meeting of the Selection Board that included VC Kohat University Prof. Dr. Nasir Jamal, VC University of Haripur Prof. Dr. Nasser Ali Khan, VC University of Swabi Prof. Dr. Noor Jehan, VC Bacha Khan University Charsadda Prof. Dr. Fazal Rahim Marwat and VC University of Malakand Prof. Dr. Jauhar. The Dean of Science AWKUM Prof. Dr. Saeed Anwar, Dean Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr. Zahoor-ul-Haq, Registrar Saeed-ul-Islam, Director HRD Dr. Amir Zaman, Director QEC Dr. Qasim along with different subject experts were also among the attendees of the meeting.

Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali on the occasion said that very soon AWKUM will lead all universities of the province in the number of PhDs and it will be graded as not only one of the best universities of the country but one of the best universities of the world.
